Birth Story:
Our son Jacob Brian was born Tuesday, April 10th, at 11:01am. We are so in love!
I started having contractions at about 3am on the 9th, but they stopped about 4 hours later. At around 9:30 that night
they started up again, but were spaced about 15 mins apart. We went in to the hospital at around 3:30am on Tuesday, and my
contractions slowed down even more! I was in tears because I thought for sure they were going to send me home. The nurse couldn't
reach my cervix, so they sent me walking. After about an hour and a half they were coming closer together and more intense,
so we went back up to L&D to get checked. This time a different nurse checked and I was at 4cm, so they kept me. My nurses
were awesome (even though they had to poke me 3 times for the IV, ouch!), and got me my epidural within an hour. Up to that
point I had only had about three hours of really painful contractions. My epi didn't work at first, but after a few extra
shots of medicine my legs felt like dead wood and I was not feeling any pain. So relaxed, very different from my other two
natural births! The next time they checked me I was ready to push, although I didn't think I would be able to. Two pushes
later, at 11:01am, he was here. We just could not be any happier!
