Birth Story:
Well, my last doctors appointment was on March 29th. I was dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced. My doctor didn't think I'd still
be around.. but yet, there I was!! He told me he'd induce me on the 2nd if I wanted.. but, i really wanted things to progress
on their own. So, it was a waiting game from there on!!
We decided to move at the last minute..and monday, april 2nd.. was the day..
So here i was.. big and pregnant..moving into a house, 40 minutes away from the hospital..and wanting soo badly to have
everything unpacked and ready for baby!! Of course, everyone is trying to keep me from doing too much..afraid that i'd go
into labor..good news is that we got everything moved..right?
Well, we stayed the night at the old house..which is only mins from the hospital and the next day i started having the
same ol contractions i've been having for months.. but, by 4pm they were "different"..they got closer together..became
uncomfortable.. so i watched them closely...dropped the kidos off with my sister.. did some last minute things and by 7pm
made it to the hospital.Contractions weren't really painful..just uncomfortable still.. but I was dilated between a 6 and
7..and 20 mins later..dilated to an 8. They took me out of triage and got me to my room.. where they broke my water. It took
a little bit of time.. and many painful contractions before I dilated enough for the doctor to step in. The baby was faced
up instead of down.. which was making it hard for things to progress.. and after several attempts from dr. to turn the baby..
she finally had to use forceps to assist. Finally at 9:47pm my baby boy was born!! He had a couple of small bruises on his
head and face from the forceps.. but everything was perfect. I"d have to say it was probably my hardest labor.. but i'm
soo thankful that it was over in 2 and a half hours..and can only imagine how long I would have been in there if i were induced
the day before!
We were able to go home on april 5th.. of course, to a house full of boxes! lol So between 3 kids and all the unpacking..i've
been extra busy..But, wouldn't change it for the world!
